Biography:
Mr. Shields is the founding partner of the firm and is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. Shields has been practicing labor/employment law since 1987. Mr. Shields has litigated many employment law cases, including cases involving non-competition agreements, cases under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, the Arizona Wage Payment Act, and the Employment Protection Act. He has also litigated many common law employment law claims, including those for breach of contract, intentional interference with contractual relations, and defamation. He often serves as an instructor at employment law seminars. He possesses jury trial experience in both state and federal courts. Mr. Shields is a co-author of the Arizona Employment Law Handbook and a member of the Arizona Employment Lawyers Association and the Employment Law Section of the Arizona State Bar.
